MOUNTAIN Bike Festival ON CAPE COD RAISES

Today, the New England Mountain Bike Association announced that it had raised funds for the American Red Cross through its annual mountain bike festival. This was the final Harpoon-Topeak MTB Adventure Series event, which took place in Sandwich, Massachusetts, on September 18th.

The Harpoon-Topeak MTB Adventure Series Grand Finale was attended by 370 mountain bikers. It was presented by Dirt Rag Magazine to raise funds for American Red Cross.

This is a fundraiser for New England Mountain Bike Associates’ trail advocacy programs. Philip Keyes, NEMBA’s executive director, states that the event was cancelled due to Hurricane Katrina. Some of the victims were still at Otis Air Force Base. We decided to donate the proceeds of this event to the American Red Cross.

Neal Todrys of Topeak Cycling Accessories (Foxboro MA), stated that Topeak is happy to be associated with NEMBA due to its ability to provide great riding opportunities for cyclists throughout the region and its ability to raise funds for good causes.

NEMBA member William Noonan donated a custom cruiser bike to any rider who raised more than €1000 in pledges.

Harpoon Brewery, Topeak and Belmont were the festival’s title sponsors. The festival was also attended by: Coyote Mountain Bike Camps and Crotch Guard. Harris Cyclery, LeVeL Components. MassBike, Mavic-Adidas. os20gear. Red Bull. The Bike Depot. TobinSport / Winter Athlete. Trek Bicycles.
